ABOUT GHOST DOG CREATIVE

We’re a St. Louis-based creative studio building authentic, strategic brands that are rooted in story-telling and crafted to last.

Hi, I’m Rebecca.

Graphic Designer, Creative Director, lover of books & iced oat milk lattes, creator of Ghost Dog Creative.

Believe it or not, writing was the first love of my life. I was an English major at University of Missouri, (I chose English because English majors famously make a ton of money…ha) but somewhere along the way I fell in love with design. The first 6 years of my career were spent at a container screen printing company, where I grew my skillset, sharpened my instincts, and got plenty of practice with branding and packaging design.

A whole lot of scrappy learning later, my partner Dan encouraged me to start a freelance biz, so I could work alongside cool, value-driven clients, and help them find a creative direction that feels uniquely theirs.

My English degree turned out to be my secret design weapon: I don’t just make things look good, I make sure they say the right thing, too.

My work draws from vintage ephemera, old European menus, folklore, and anything that feels a little haunted (in the best way): layered, expressive, and unforgettable.

Whether we’re building a brand from scratch, building you a new website or creating a tour poster, I bring intuition, heart, and a little weird magic to every project.

Just a few more fun things about me

  • Before graphic design, there was music. I used to play in three bands, which explains why I think in mood, movement, and emotional resonance. I even went on tour a few times!

  • Astrologically speaking: Cancer sun (heart-led), Leo moon (dramatic about visuals), Aquarius rising (creative rebel energy).

  • Dan and I have left the country every year since 2022, and we don’t plan on stopping the annual tradition any time soon!

Travel reminds me that there’s more than one way to see everything — including design. New places shift perspective, and perspective is where the best ideas live.

  • Personality-wise: INFP — intuitive, empathic, idealistic, and deeply invested in making things meaningful.

  • If there’s a dog in the room, I’ve already found it. If there’s a stray cat outside, I’m emotionally invested. It’s less a personality trait and more a lifestyle. We have two dogs, but if we didn’t live in the city I’d have 10 more and maybe some cats (even though I’m allergic!) I also have to check DoesThedogDie.com before I watch any new movie or show. It drives my friends and family crazy.

  • I cry over anything—happy or sad. I used to be embarrassed but now I’m trying hard to embrace it.

MEET THE REST OF THE GHOST DOG TEAM

  • Co-Founder and Reluctant Advisor

This is my partner, Dan. He’ll deny being part of Ghost Dog, but he’s heard every idea before anyone else. Dan’s my consultant, accountant, and my “is this good?” check — basically, a little bit of everything.

  • Heads of Morale

Holly & Felix are very good at supervising — usually from the couch. They help me take breaks by climbing on my lap when I’ve been on my laptop too long. They help me on client calls by barking in the background. You name it, they make it significantly more difficult—oops, I mean better.

  • Actual Ghost Dog

Zero started it all, he’s the original Ghost Dog. The Namesake. The literal ghost. We miss him every day, but he’s forever immortalized in our company name.
